Breakfast, Lunch, and Recess
BREAKFAST
Each morning breakfast will be available for students between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. The cost will be $1.25.
LUNCH
Students may either bring or buy their lunch. The children who bring their lunch may buy milk and/or dessert. The price of lunch will be $3.00. Meals may be paid for when purchased, or in advance. Advance payments may be made by sending cash or a check made payable to the Somers School Lunch Fund, to school with your child, or by opening and funding an on-line payment account at www.MySchoolBucks.com. Children are never allowed to "charge" snacks when there is no money available in their accounts. Students are allowed to charge a meal in emergencies, but are expected to repay the charge as soon as possible. An interactive menu will be available each month on the student meals page of the district website. This menu will also be available using a free smartphone application. Information regarding the menu and app. will be posted on the same page.
Please note that the ID numbers used for the cafeteria and My School Bucks will be the actual Student ID numbers, instead of the Person ID numbers. Parents will need to know their children's Student ID numbers to add any new accounts, but do not need to do anything to convert existing My School Bucks accounts, as they will be automatically rolled over to the new numbers. Parents' accounts and passwords will not be changed.
While in the lunchroom, the children are expected to remain seated and obey the rules teacher aides enforce, such as no running or tossing objects. Teacher aides supervise the lunchroom each day and report any serious infraction of rules to the principal/assistant principal.

RECESS
Outdoor recess is taken every day during the school year. During the winter months we will generally send the students outside unless the temperature falls below 20 degrees. Please have your child dress accordingly. A doctor’s note is needed if your child has a medical reason not to participate in recess when the temperature is above 20 degrees.
LOST AND FOUND
The lost and found is located in the cafeteria. Small items like jewelry, eyeglasses, wallets, etc. are turned in at the main office. Three times throughout the school year (after winter break, spring break and at the end of the year) we donate clothing that has not been claimed to charitable organizations.
